If you were manager of Everton, and for 5m Joey Barton would be an Everton player. (say 3.5 upfront with rest on appearences and installments), Would you risk it and buy him?

Please vote on the poll, main reason I created this was to try and get a poll on the home page.
 
Ok I must admit I am completely in two minds over this, on one hand we have an obvious talent that has shone in a [Poor language removed] city team who is also a massive blue. On teh other hand he seems like right gob [Poor language removed] in the mould of gob [Poor language removed] extrodinaire Craig Bellamy.

Could joing his beloved team tame him?! His hustle would look good in the middle of the park with support from Arteta, Cahill and maybe manny?!

Danny could you add an option of not sure because frankly, Im not sure.

No because 95% of Evertonian's are in the same boat as you (including me), so am trying to force the issue! :lol:

Otherwise "not sure" would win by a mile
 
sign him up, but with clauses saying he has to put a couple of bucks aside for the end of season trip incase he gets too geed up and starts attacking people.

I wrote this in another thread and my opiniopn hasn't changed...

He's a thug. A horrible git who I don't want anywhere near our great club. I'm not even sure he's that good a player. Yes he is City's best player, but City don't exactly have any world beaters do they?! I'd much rather splash out a bit and get Mani for around £8m. He's an actual quality player with tonnes of potential who doesn't go around shouting his mouth off/beating people up/showing his arse to the fans etc.
 
A bit dodgey but I keep going back and forth on this one. If we pick him up on the cheap and Davey and team gets inside his head and lays out whats expected and give him the don't stray talk or you'll be animal fodder,etc. Then I would entertain him. I think.....................................:unsure: :unsure: :unsure: :unsure:
 
If we get him for a decent price then yes. He will improve the quality of the squad. If he turns out to be a bad ted then we can sell him.

The gamble of if he turns out good outweighs the risk of him being [Poor language removed]. If we get him for less than four million pesos.
 

Well, if you want to force the issue, I vote with Welton for much the same reasons. To be honest, I'm swithering as well, hate the git, but for 3m (as per the poll) the gamble might pay off.

But I think the most likely scenario is that Timbo would end up sorting him out.

Dont sign him, and i'll be saying thank f*** for that, he would have ruined the team spirit in the camp.

Think the vast majority of fans are the same.

Team spirit is a valuable comodity, and a very fragile one at that. However, how bad is Joey Barton? He has done some dodgey things but is he misunderstood??! He is young and people make mistakes, is he not worthy of a 2nd chance away from city?

If money was no issue I was say sign him and Manny, if its a choice between the two I say Manny.
