How annoying was the commentator on sky? Mentioned is so many times it was pathetic, it was put to bed earlier in the week and he kept bringing it up, even said at one point towards to end about a "move to a big club" he was even more annoying than the woolish behavior from Spurs fans abusing him.

Tbh wasn't clear to me from the TV where the boos were coming from at the start, and mid way through he does point out it was the home fans that were heckling him.

Yeah, the Spurs fans booed him every time he got the ball in the first half. Our fans were superb though; the 'Money can't buy you Stones' song was heard pretty much right through the game (and loudly!). Can't wait for the Chelsea match!
My understanding is that he really is delighted to be staying at EFC and I think probably the transfer request was more down to his agent than him.

34 m was the agreed trigger point
However what changed was the Chelsea attitude towards Everton which infuriated Martinez hence deal off and an unhappy Jose. Stones wil 100% not be sold in this window.
Presumably timing also came into play - 34m at the start of the window when we have time to buy and bed in players is a lot different to 34m in the last week when all our replacements would have either been sold (eg Ogbonna) or gone up in value as their parent clubs would similarly struggle to replace/spend the money.

I don't even believe that there was an 'agreed trigger point'.

Martinez stated in his press conference the other day that there has been no 4th bid. The 3rd rejected bid was for £30m, widely leaked by the Chelsea-supporting media.

It's complete rubbish, once again trying to paint Everton as some kind of unreasonable bad guys for refusing to do business, allowing Chelsea to save face.

haha be funny if true, its as if we said 34, they agree, and we turn round and say "just kiddin" i can well believe this, the express was the paper who said he would hand in the transfer request, which he did. No wonder they haven't gone for someone else, maybe they thought they had enough for the mighty Palace....etc and could hang back lolz

I reckon it's down to timing and attitude.

£35m was probably our valuation. But if we were to sell, we wanted it done quickly. We didn't want/have to sell so we wouldn't be forced into a cheaper deal late on.

Without taking the piss I would like to congratulate the people behind the fly by at saints as I really feel this shook Bill and the board up to see that we are serious now as a fanbase and that all hell would break loose if they sold Stones. I reckon they would have taken 30K but now fear the repercussions if they were to do so.
