John Stones transfer saga

It winds me up for the younger generation of Blues to see us dismissed routinely by the media the way we are throughout the Sky PL era. It was not always thus.
However it does give me some pleasure to think that we still may still have enough about us as a club to ruin their "let's get who we want to our sky rich club set". It is not an easy game to play because we do not have many aces dealt to us but sometimes as has been shown with Baines ( Man Utd every window), Jags ( Arsenal occasionally) Coleman(so far) they cannot always click their fingers and we fold. Obviously this is a game that never ends but there is still a decent chance we will keep our good players. If these guys do want our best players they will have to pay a lot, like Fellaini and Rodwell. Just so frustrating to see the basic media bullying going on but sticking it to them is enjoyable too. Let's hope the decision makers at Everton at the moment have got some backbone. Holding breath!!

I'd sell Stones for 30M but not a penny less and no stupid deals involving add ons. But the 30M wouldn't be getting spent on squad players I'd put 10M towards his replacement and the other 20 on a 20 goal a season striker.
30 mil ? Really !......thats what Rio Ferdinand cost all those years ago.
Raheem Sterling on the back of a crap season cost 49 mil.
Stone's is wanted by Chelsea ,the same Chelsea that recieved 50 mil for Sideshow Bob.
Get in the real world , this is a no sale unless a ridiculous bid comes in. 50 mil goin rate thesedays.

If we didn't have such an awful board of directors, we would be a Sky club too. We were the original 'Big 5'.

Would hope the lad stays cos he's gonna be some talent. But I hope the club dont bend to this horrible media led frenzy.
The lad isnt the finished article yet , once he is his price will come into the realms of obscene.
These quotes may look massive to us at the moment but to the clubs bidding its chicken feed.
Hope he stays & continues to develop at the same rate . But money will always talk , maybe next year....Hopes !

We could of course issue a statement along the lines of... "Everton Football Club have today flatly rejected an approach of £58 million pound for John Stones. A spokesperson for Everton advised, we received what we felt was a correct and well presented offer, but after due consideration and in total agreement with the enquiring club, the offer was rejected and Everton will not reveal who the bidding club was".

Then let's see if any of the Sky media darlings want to really step up to the bidding plate... and we can tell them to phoook off too.

Chelsea transfer news: Jose Mourinho prepares £26 million second bid for Everton defender John Stones
Everton are expected to maintain a hardline stance over Stones, and may demand more than the £32m record fee paid for a British defender

Jose Mourinho, Chelsea's manager, is ready to make a second bid for Everton defender John Stones in the next 48 hours.

Chelsea will step up their attempt to sign the England international by tabling an offer of around £26 million, with Mourinho keen to secure a deal before this weekend's Community Shield against Arsenal.

Everton have already knocked back an initial bid of £20 million for Stones and warned last season's Premier League champions that he is not for sale.

But there remains a sense within Stamford Bridge that a deal can be done for the 21-year-old, who has emerged as Mourinho's leading transfer target of the summer.

Mourinho has made Stones his number one priority this summer

The Chelsea manager believes Stones is a ready-made replacement for John Terry, the club's captain, and is pressing ahead with his bid to sign the former Barnsley player.

Everton are determined to maintain a hardline stance, however, and Chelsea may have to break the British transfer record for a defender. The current record is the £32million Manchester United paid out to Southampton for Luke Shaw last summer.

Chelsea are keen to sell Mohamed Salah this week

Chelsea are also expected to offload winger Mohamed Salah this week, with Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Roma keen to take him for the season.

Or the club (I'm not necessarily blaming RM for this) could come out with a statement that he is not for sale at any price (even though that isn't true) - end of story, just as the Hibs manager did on TV yesterday to fend off Rangers' interest in one of his players.

The fact that they haven't suggests that it is only a matter of time before the bidding reaches somewhere near the club's valuation and negotiations begin. Just hope that there will still be enough time in the window to spend the money, but somehow I doubt it. The club should be identifying a replacement now, as well as replacements for the other 2 CBs that have left this summer.

Haha.
That Hibs player was out on the lash with all the rangers last night. Hes as good as gone. Means nothing issuing a statement.
