John Stones transfer saga

And they get a small fine if it's proven to have happened.....which it won't be.

Tapping up happens all the time, usually at the players behest through his agent. You seriously think Lukaku and Barkley don't know exactly which clubs are interested in them and how much they'd be paid.

You think any Everton targets don't know exactly the same too. Modern football init.
Barkley & Lukaku dont get it played out in the press & media like this has been. Its the worst ive witnessed .Something should be done its deplorable.

In the US do talented basketball/american football players push for transfers to other clubs ?
Yes - it's generally about market though. Sometimes competitiveness if they're stuck on a terrible team for ages, but it's generally about moving to larger media markets so they can build a brand.

The lack of relegation/promotion + beneficial legal deals with the major leagues generally leads to more parity, so players often feel that they can be a part of a winning team anywhere (excepting Cleveland).

Players may push for trades to larger markets though if they have designs on being the next MJ, for example.

How come lots of supposed 'world class' players stay at crap teams for ages then ? I don't think its at anywhere near the same level as it is over here.
Most do not, but it's also a different mentality. SOME players want yo be either THE reason or PART of the reason they drag a team to success. the whole idea over here that a player who is really good wants to join a Champions League tan when they've done literally nothing to earn it themselves..

I appreciate the humour but sadly the redolence of Everton reality is nuanced in your post. We will keep McGeady and lose Stones. That is the Everton reality. Hell, I watched City make our team look like a pub league contender last weekend...and now we are selling players that might allow us to escape that league???...and keeping the likes of McGeady??? Breaks my heart, it really does.

Why even post this utter mince. We lost 2-0 to a team who are in the running to win the league and had multiple chances to score ourselves.

Why blame agents? I know plenty of people who aren't footballers who choose to make career moves without an agent.

Maybe John Stones wants to leave or Maybe he just doesn't want to stay.

If he's ambitious then maybe he's weighing up the best case scenario at Everton this season and the best case scenario at Chelsea and deciding on that basis.

It's possible isn't it?

Please can you tell me why you are impersonating me and using my username?

Hey folks I'm from the shed end and today this person has signed up and appears to be impersonating me. The username is I have used for years yet thus person has signed up today and using it. I find it very odd.

When? Never heard of this myself. VERY few players e.i. Kobe, Jeter, Favre have stipulations in their contracts that allow them to say "no" to a potential move. I cannot think of a time where a player said "I want to go to "X" because they can win something."

The owners of the team would laugh in the player's face and tell them to get their ass on the field.

No, i'm seeing the truth, they asked Jeffers to leave too because they said they needed the money, this is fact, same with rooney.

They asked fellaini to put in the request so they didn't have to pay his loyalty.

We're just going to disagree but i know im right.

They've outdone themselves this time.

Telling clubs he's not for sale

This is all part of his 'managed exit'

Convinced

Because once you're under contract, that's where you stay until it runs out. The only thing a player can do is be a trouble maker and try to make the club trade them.

so basically they have a system which works, whereas ours is completely and utterly broken in favour or 4 teams

yeah its ridiculous, there is so much money in sports over there its unreal but the mind set is basically ive signed this contract, ill get paid and leave once ive completed it. there isnt transfers fees or anything over there. just drafts where 10 teams will offer you money to play for them
