Stones was not even a regular starter at City in 2019. What is your point exactly? A player has success in 2023 and you quoted things back in 2017 or 2019. You are not really clever are you?

This has always been done. I can remember standing in the Gwladys st and hearing Gary Lineker was a waste of money and crap.

He is amazing, doesnt get anywhere near the plaudits he should as a cornerstone of the best english club side we have maybe ever seen and a relatively very successful England team. If he played for Utd or the RS you would never hear the end of it.

Its funny as they all got it at some stage. Off the top of my head the only player i can recall who never got any stick was Duncan Ferguson. He had that cult status thing and got away with it.

He did get stick from the older heads who do go for cult status. I loved his attitude and thought he was underrated as a footballer, but he became a passenger and we can't afford injury-prone players. I thought we kept him far too long. Stones is a class player, but he wasn't perfect in his time with us. He got stick because the fans knew the the team wasn't top class and he occasionally put his team mates under pressure.
