John Stones

Stones was a sub at City in 2019. Zouma was a regular at Everton, playing alight under Silva. What are your trying to say? Using the 2023 version of John Stones to prove a point?
Zouma was never more than decent, Stones is elite level, but with us he was playing alongside players without his natural talent and self-confidence. It never ends well.

He did get stick from the older heads who do go for cult status. I loved his attitude and thought he was underrated as a footballer, but he became a passenger and we can't afford injury-prone players. I thought we kept him far too long. Stones is a class player, but he wasn't perfect in his time with us. He got stick because the fans knew the the team wasn't top class and he occasionally put his team mates under pressure.
Oops, I mean't don't ,

He is using the 2023 version of Stones to beat me.

Stones was a sub at City around 2017-19…I think.

There was a period when he was having a rocky spell for City and I merrily lapped up the schadenfreude. I'll admit i was bitter. He was a great find by Moyes and played a part in one of our most enjoyable seasons in recent years under Bobby.
