John Stones

Jones can play right back, centre half and holding mid, Smalling can play right back and centre half. Clearly, both average players but if Glen Johnson gets injured one of these will replace him

Stones can only play centre half, he is not a right back

This is why Woy picked the squad he did. Post World Cup I fully expect Stones to be fast tracked to replace Jags

Errmmm..

Stones played all of his football at Barnsley at RB

I hope we keep hold of this kid for years to come. Iv never seen such a classy CB in a blue shirt in all my 35 years. There's something very special about Stones. He just glides around the park with the ball.

Absolutely not!

Absolutely! Curtis Davies did it all season long, and while Hull decided that they weren't going to play in the half dozen games before the FA Cup final, Davies was still quality! Prior to that he kept them in games, at times alongside Alex Bruce who is dreadful. Stonesy played surprisingly (to those of us who knew little about him) well between Christmas and now but he made more errors than Curtis Davies and while Stones is the future in the sense that he is a ball playing centre-half, Davies is just as capable at the moment and the stats backed him for it too.

IMO of course...

Davies had a great season and young Stones did superbly well given his age / experience, but there's still a mistake in him at present and I'd hate to see him end up being the English media's cartoon villain at the WC. Great if he goes and gets to experience the whole set up of a major tournament, but I can't help hoping that he doesn't get to play this time around.

And Smalling is better? He's had a terrible season. Stones has played about ten senior games and he's on the verge of a world cup squad? Yes he has more talent than the rest combined but he'll be ridiculously raw.

Besides my main point is that fans of Stoke, Cardiff etc. will not see it this way, theyll see their top English players overlooked for two United reserves and a kid from Everton. Theyll feel the same way we did when Jags and Baines were getting overlooked for a geriatric Carragher, crocked Ledley King, ex big club Warnock etc.

Well that's that, then, isn't it.

Who cares what Caulker, Shawcross, Stoke fans or whoever think? I'd have Neymar over Pele at the moment. If you are a better player you play despite your age in my opinion, nothing else matters.

Chris Smalling has looked poor this season...his girlfriend sure hasn't!

We don't need soft grade porno!!! Stick to football, leave it to the alehouse.

Now as for Stones he was in the airplane photo next to Barklay, does that mean and I hope he will be off to Brasil.
