If Bill has any balls he would not sell for less than 50 million

any less he is an absolute tw8t

If Bill has any balls he will not sell, even for 50 million.

Stones is likely to be our most important player for the next few years if he stays, and we get nearly double that from TV money.

Does it not infuriated fans of smaller clubs which tend have more quality 'home reared' players. Clubs like Chelsea had their expensive extoic cakes and now want ours the fat [Poor language removed]

It's called the transfer market mate, it happens, as the Barnsley fan in this thread can testify

Just imagine being a Barnsely fan tho, I mean they watched him and knew he was going to the top, then they sell him for 2.2m plus add ons.

And heres us saying we wont sell for anything less than 50m.

Just visiting from the other side of the Pennines and thought I would provide an alternative view of this. We poor souls that support Barnsley were both gutted and outraged when Stones was given away to Everton for what we all knew was a stupidly low fee (£2.2m apparently, not the oft-quoted £3m). Our owner has admitted publicly that on the day Everton bid for him, he was relatively unaware of John and asked the Chief Executive if he was 'any good'. He has also admitted that it was probably the biggest mistake the club had ever made (which is saying quite a lot). Those of us who merely support the club through the turnstiles knew that we had a once in a lifetime gem on our hands, and this admission didn't exactly improve our collective state of mind. David Moyes bragging about the deal afterwards didn't help either. The one and only saving grace is that we are rumoured to have a 15%-20% sell-on clause. I have been told by someone who ought to know that Everton have tried three times to buy out the clause; for once perhaps we may end up having done the right thing. So, spare a thought for those of us who are merely bystanders in a Sky-created money-obsessed Premier League world; 15% of £25-40m or so would give us half a chance of competing in the genuinely 'Fair-Play' circumstances that we lower league clubs are forced to operate in, and be a reasonable return for an exceptional player our club nurtured from the age of ten.

Would prefer it wasn't Chelsea though!

Just a real shame mate but god I hate Chelsea so much

Everton 12 years ago and Everton today, can't compare what was going on back then to today.
You can mate because he is still the same worm of a chairman. Leopards don't change their spots.
But good ole billy is an evertonian isn't he mate ? The greatest blue and all that......

we have to do what the rs did, we want the extra for the sell on fee, agent fee and loyalty bonus and our valuation, so that would be around 35 million

we'll get £35 million give Barnsley £7 million, clear the debt of £20 million we owe Chelsea and buy some sh1te reject for £8million
