you know what, I guess Moyes really did get us compensation when he left. Martinez wanted Stones at Wigan, Moyes swooped in for him and then left. So i reckon Stones is the compensation for United poaching our then manager. And you know what? Im certain we got the better side of that deal.

He is a stunning player. One mistake today with a poor touch and clearance, but that aside he was simply world class.

did he have anything to do today? ha. another solid performance from john and a great block on the line. what a spine we have with stones, mccarthy and barkley, all top class footy players with years before they even reach prime.

@ijjysmith wickham surely showed some promise at ipswich? i remember him looking pretty handy but a high fee at that age does nobody any good. i don't know if he played the full 90 or only 45 mins today? was really poor. pretty sure sland will say they never noticed lukaku mind you
