Martinez is destroying the lad with making him play out over the basic defending principles, when he first came through he was a defender with ability to bring the ball out, now hes a young player who tried too much, makes silly decision and doesn't defend well enough.

Whether the hype has affected him aswell who knows, but the last month or so if any top team has been scouting him and sees a 50 million defender they are off their heads because he was better when he first broke into the team.

based on the last 10 minutes, the majority of people here don't deserve to watch him play. Jesus, whatever happened to accepting a young player in bad form without having to call him every name under the sun and saying he's not fit to wear the shirt.

At the end of the day he's a centre back, and one that very, very rarely scores goals too.

A hard knock 5m thug would see us with more point - Srktel, Huth, etc - and I don't think anybody could deny that.
