Is the ability / confidence to dribble the ball out over-rated? Might it perhaps contribute to slowing down counter attacks and encouraging the opposition to pressure us in dangerous areas? Is the Jags and Funes method of passing it out quickly to the midfielders more effective - and safer defensively?

I think it is. Much as Stones is a great tackler and quick, and with great ball control, I think his libero inclinations put us under pressure. He's got the attributes to be a great defender, and the main Emgland centre back for years, but probably needs some Rio Ferdonand-esque reigning in before he gets there. Funes and Jags for me are far the better option at this moment in our quest to win the cup and climb the league.

Spends too much time trying to show what a great footballer he is rather than helping keep clean sheets. And while I can forgive the transfer request I can't forget. It happened. He was ready it jib us off. Be perfectly happy to keep him but of our young diamonds I'd sell his first if it came to it.

He's a superb footballer, still very young and like every footballer on the planet he found himself out of form and it was good managment to take him out of the spotlight for a few games.

I certainly hope we can keep him as Jags is in the autumn of his career and Stones is stronger in the air and is a classy act.

However, my bet is that he is off this summer as part of Pep's welcome package but we will keep Lukaku for another year.

The great thing for me is that after years we finally have a team with no weaknesses. No Howard, no Hibbert etc. And we have Besic, Del Boy, Stones, Niceaese, fighting for places. 7th place is within sight and if the good run continues maybe we can dream of 6th spot too.
