John Stones

Wouldn't argue with that. It's not an attack on Stones, it's a view that he needs to find his position and if we have loads in that position to choose from then we might think about taking the cash and recycling it.
Look with robles in goal stones would not have dithering Timmy behind him with those balls rolled out to him with an attacker breathing down his neck - sorry but the Manager has to give Robles a run, and reintroduce John Stones back in the defence at some time or his value will plummet anyway!

Possibly. But I certainly wouldn't meddle with that defence as it now is. If Mori's form drops then ok. But for my money we have now stumbled on the best back four we have available to us and we need to keep it in place.

Yes but if Timmy return our defence will crumble like the Berlin wall!
I noticed today how far we could defend higher up the pitch - that links us to our midfield easier links the forwards easier - makes defending easier we restricted them to one shot which Robles saved well - its a pleasure to watch a defence who have the confidence to pass it back and knows their Keeper is communicating with them, and leaves his line for the ball to help them out - its unfair for Stones to be missing at this juncture ok!
If Timmy comes back in you will see a nervous disastrous defence mark my words who ever plays in the back four!

My older brother has for some time been suggesting to me that Stones might be better used in a defensive midfield role, possibly to eventually become the successor to Gareth Barry.

Given that right now, Jags and RFM seem to settling down nicely together (possibly due in part to being more confident with JR in goal?), maybe JS could be tried in a DM role at some point?

Exactly mate, and that was the point I was making all last week about it not just being about stopping shots. A different GK could transform our defence. And the clues were right in front of RM all season with Robles' LC performances. He's got this GK position completely wrong all season until a few games ago and it's cost us dearly, because the footy is first class going forward by and large.

I'd say he's best used as an income to fund next season and before people realise he isn't Bobby Moore

He is ideally suited to play that defensive midfield role, he will be needed anyway as a CB may get injured - competition for places is a healthy position to have if RM can get the balance correct we could get in the top four, if Timmy is locked in the dressing room toolol
