John Stones

Take they're arm off. Only coz John wont want to stay anyway so sell him on and build again. Shame but it's obviously not a position we are so desperate for now mori is becoming a bit of a player too.

All those calling or Stones to be sold should be ashamed of themselves.
He is quality that just needs to be nurtured and encouraged, not yelled and moaned at.
Can't see El Bob agreeing to any sale unless the player insists he wants to go, and right now, if he's got any sense he'll take the rest he's getting as time to watch and realise that we've got the makings of a really, really competitive team and a big, big kick-on now and European footie again next season is achievable.

I think it's down to Jagielka and Mori's reluctance to fanny about with it at the back - in comparison to young Johnny who loves it.

Both 'fannied' about with it (at times) today.

Stones is a good defender. He's injured, and at the moment Mori and Jags look good. Fine with me if he is on the bench but let's not slate the lad.

As another poster said, it is as much down to Robles been there as well. We kept clean sheets and defended well earlier in the season with Stones in there.

I would love for Stones to stay and was made up when we told chelsea to do one in the summer, but if someone comes in with a 50/60m bid how can we turn that down? Ok Jags isn't getting any younger but surely with 60m we could get some players in to improve us?

Hold on. No one is CALLING for him to be sold. Just a simple observation that we've looked just fine at the back (at worst), and possibly stronger, while still scoring for fun. So to simply consider the possibility that selling a player who put in a transfer request at the start of the season for 50 million pounds, whilst not seeing a huge downside, if at all, in defense...might not be the end of the world...

Calm down lads. The player most likely to ask for a move if we don't finish in the CL spots is Stones. We can survive that loss, even if he becomes Franz Beckenbauer Jr. We can't survive the loss of Lukaku or Barkely at this point.

Agree with this 100%
