He has a coach who's added a game to his raw talent. The same feller who took him from a £2M player to one that 'money cant buy'.

Roberto dropped the lad...and quite rightly so. He's never a CB and never has been.

Ger=t rid in the summer for £40M if we can get the price.

He was top class when he first broke through. Never missed a one on one challenge and knew when to put the foot through it. Now hes obsessed with following the martinez mantra where clearances are banned.

To say he was never a centre half is nonsense. He's blatantly obviously a centre half. And he needs his confidence back asap. Completely Roberto's fault.

He's never a CB. He's not good enough. Not strong enough and not competitive enough.

He just isn't.

How on earth is a slip on watered turf in an international the fault of a Club manager who's likely sat at home watching 5 games simultaneously?
The only shameful, nay laughable and wholly predictable thing here is Mr Eric Djemba Djemba fueling his anti-Martinez agenda.
What gave you the impression that I have an anti Martinez agenda?

and now he's doing the same under hodgson? guess Martinez has brain washed him eh? yep totally his fault..

maybe its the fact that he's a young centre back who has dips in form and makes mistakes..

nah its that bobby

Hes had world class talent coached out of him.

Hopefully the next manager he works under wont have fake coaching badges he bought from the internet.

Roberto made him and Roberto will sell him on. It's only fair.

I wish you'd listened to me two years ago when I said straight off the bat he was a CM all day long...and last summer when I said sell, sell, sell. We wont get approaching £40M now for that mess.

Why is everyone so definitive about a player who is 21 he's gained terrific expierence in the last two years, but he is still very young. He form will rise and fall, all of this is driven by the media guff.

Let's not forget that the lad hasn't had much of a break off season with being dragged to the States with the world cup squad in 2014 and the u21 tournament last summer.

He will still come good for us - class is permanent - he is just lacking confidence, made the first goal with a great pass out of defence - his slip, can happen to any player, so more game time needed in substitute appearances IMO to get him back to form, and his confidence back if fit?

You're right......get Unsworth in and teach the lad how to launch it Jagielka-style....but issue safety headwear to people in the Paddock and the family enclosure who'll be in his firing line.

Much rather have a 'smash it up field lad' player than a cultured footballer.

Stop talking sense and reason lad. This is a Fume Forum not a football debate lad.

It's nothing to do with hoofing. Its just basic game awareness. Like you don't turn back inside like he did tonight. You clear it or use the keeper.

It's confidence as much as anything and it's Roberto's fault for filling the kid's head with nonsense. Where have his boss one on one crunching challenges gone? He used to be so strong too. He seems shot.

A change of manager is what's needed.
