John Textor

Fancy explaining it for us a bit?

He announced he was going to buy the outstanding shares of the public company at a premium, without actually doing so. They suspended trading of those shares because that is effectively market manipulation and inflating his the value of his own shareholding in Eagle.

If you give him the benefit of the doubt, he's a stark raving lunatic. If you think that something more nefarious is going on, he was trying to pump the value of his stock to perhaps lend against it or sell it.

You can’t take any Everton bidders seriously at this point. Mainly because of Moshiri, but when clowns like John and 777 are the ones inquiring about your club, you may as well tune it out. Too much debt is leveraged against whatever owner will take over. This is a nightmare scenario and now I am even less confident that an owner will take over this year. We just have to survive until then I suppose

His comments were so far out of bounds, both Everton and his own company had to put out press releases refuting them.

Insider trading is a crime.

Moshiri does know how to pick them doesn't he, a part of me thinks that he no intention of selling this club since every person that has been in a position to take over this club either can't afford to or pulls out of doing so, it's no wonder that I have come to the conclusion that we might be stuck with him for the foreseeable future as painful as that will be

For context, this is a pretty serious thing. It's not normal to suspend trading of shares for two weeks. This guy is a joke.
Yep, pretty much pfim.

If he was hoping to do what he said, he has used alerted the SCC etc to his intentions to 'inflate' (i.e. to buy at premium prices) for shares that he is wishing to use to use as collateral in a 'potential' attempt to buy Everton...

Smart work that, by Capt. Textor! *round of applause all round!*
