I would have Beattie over him.
Fact is he scored against Liverpool and he is now immune from any criticism whatsoever.
you have mentioned immunity before, and that was tinged with personal felling due to another situation.
cahill scored against liverpool a few times, but he chose after being cohersed to play for aus this past so called summer.
stupidity that one timmy laaa.
He still missed two, and missed them badly. Thing is I expect Hibbert to hoof it and I expect Neville to make crap challenges, and I expect Carsley to look to play it back to someone in Stanley Park, but AJ is supposed to be the goalden boy and to be honest, I would have Beattie over him.[/QUOTE]
Sorry but any possible credibility you had just went out the window with that statement.
While I don't think he's immune from criticisim, no player is, he's still a better option at present than Beattie ever was in his Everton career, if you want to call it that.

Well I am just illustrating how bad AJ is at the moment.
I won't argue that he's in a seriously bad patch of form.
I think where you and I probably agree is that we hope it doesn't last as long as Beattie's did. And the longer he goes without scoring, the more worrying it is.
AJ will come good boys we need to lay off him a bit and back him its not as if moyes plays him down the middle every game he works the flanks and puts pressure on defenders and this is what moyes wants from him.Well I think it has hit crisis point. Is it now 15 games? not sure exactly, but Arsenal at home was the last goal.

When we get arteta, tommy and timmy back aj will fly the 1 thing i can,t see though is aj and yakubu playing together it just doesn,t look like a partnership that will work to me.
Yakubu has a good scoring record but to me tonight he was,nt up for it and at boro for instance he had 2 wingers firing balls in at him and big viduka its not his fault but why did we buy him was it a panic buy cos we have no wingers or big man upfront to play to his strengths. So lets keep Yakubu and leave AJ on the bench? Why can't we lay off him, lets try and give him the supports. Remember he has a better scoring record then Graeme Sharp!

Thats what i,m saying he is quality but he doesn,t fit our format we don,t have a downing or a viduka up front,so why buy him and not play to his strengthsWe bought him because he is quality, and he scores goals. But strikers thrive on service, like Beattie did. We just need to play to the strengths, but we have gone with a big man like Duncan for years and it seems embedded in the side to hoof the ball, instead of intricate quality football.
