If he was to leave Everton I would hope that he signs Schalke. He appears to like it at the club and mentioned how his fitness has improved due to the Geman system of double daily training sessions. Personally I like him and would like to see him given a chance to prove his worth under Carlo Ancelotti.

Not logical at all. If he were 'surplus to requirements' his loan would have included an option or obligation to buy. What his loan does, logically, suggest is that whilst he was deemed not ready at the time to replace Coleman (who let's not forget has been fantastic for us in the past), it was worth sending him on loan for a year so that he could play week in/week out, in one of the best leagues in Europe, and see how he performed there. Then they could make a more informed decision at the end of the season as to whether he was good enough (or likely to be) to replace Coleman in the first 11.

As for settling in to a new life abroad, that's pure speculation, and whilst he may indeed be enjoying his time there, that doesn't mean he wouldn't want to come back home, to his childhood club, even if it was to be a backup.

....you could possibly be right, Phil. My view is based entirely on assumption. The only point I would make is that Coleman was already struggling and if I were a Everton manager, there is no way I would send a player on loan who I thought was possibly the best I had.

There is no way I’d send a player on loan who I thought was the future RB and then say a priority signing is somebody in that position.

The reality is, Everton Academy loanees rarely play for Everton. I think there’s only Osman and Barkley who have played 50 first team games after being on loan, and both of them had serious injuries at a key stage of their development.

i might be entirely wrong on Kenny, he’s a lad I’ve watched lots coming through the ranks, you can see by my posts how much I like him. I just don’t see how a manager would send him on loan when it’s a weak position that needs strengthening.

The other advantage Kenny offers is he played a lot of youth games at CB so if Ancelloti continues with this flexible back 4 to back 3 he will suit it better than Coleman.
Did he? I don't remember ever seeing him anywhere but RB. I don't see him spending much time at CB at 5'8.

Yeah he played a lot of games at CB in the u23. Gethin Jones was the RB. I think the fact he never grew put paid to his chances but I don't think Coleman is massive and he's doing ok.

Not necessarily the worst thing in the world. If Hibbert was about 2-3" taller he probably would have been capped a bunch. He was a VERY solid defender. I can't stress this next part enough tho, TERRIBLE at going forward, but at the back he was quite good.

Yep, always gets a bad press Hibbo, he was a very good RB for us, of course he was grim going forward, but as you say defensively he was MOSTLY quite sound, that cup final aside.
