He's fine to serve as Coleman's backup this season but if Carlo wants a more attacking RB moving forward he's going to have to find someone else

Coleman should be back up to a new right back and JJK should be moved on. He offers nothing offensively. The comparison with the young lad at left back was invidious for him

I think people are being very hard on him. He had a nothing ahead of him, no help or support, no real link up play, and its clear he had to be cautious all game about moving forward.
Agree. I also think that their left side played well, particularly the left back Touray. I know his game quite well and he is very no-nonsense and can be quite a vicious player, who gave no time to Walcott or Kenny last night. *Walcott being the 'experienced pro' should still have been more productive against Touray though.

Don't think he's gonna be a goer but happy to give him 12 months to prove otherwise. To be honest I'd be happy with no more incomings and actually have a bit of continuity between seasons for the first time in ages. I know Kenny wasn't here last year but he knows the club having come through the ranks.

Allan, Doucoure, James will improve us as much as we can realistically be improved in one window. Get rid of the proper dead wood like Bolasie, Besic, Sandro and otherwise go with what we've got.

Know what you're saying, but can only partially agree. While I wouldn't be concerned at Kenny playing for 30 minutes if Coleman was injured, or even play the odd 90 if Coleman were out, I wouldn't want him in the side for a run of matches if Coleman had a longer term problem. At even mid-table level, I think Kenny is barely acceptable, and just not capable, try gamely as he doubtless would, of positively contributing to where we aspire to get to.

He’s a player I could see us keeping and utilizing till we find the RB of our choice. He’s certainly not ‘bad.’ And I don’t think he will let us down. But we definitely need an upgrade.

i agree with this, i think we can give him a chance and see how he is this year. At the moment, he seems a little hesitant when he plays that can be due to confidence or ability. I think he has a good cross in him and is active defensively, but we will see.

I’m in agreement with others that he looks hella average, but if you’re going to be average be good at the defensive side of the ball which I think he is at the very least. He doesn’t seem to be as clever getting forward like Digne though which will be his undoing unless he figures it out.

I thought he was very good going forward personally, put some really dangerous balls in. Defensively I’m a bit concerned - but if he was alongside Holgate with Allan there I think he would work well as they would be able to cover for him

I think we've been lucky here because Seaums looks like he's going to improve - both in his motivation and his general play- with better players around him. It's no coincidence maybe (apart from his injury) that Seaumus played a lot better in those years around 2010-13 of Arteta, Cahill, Jags-Distin-Heitinga , Neville - a lot of solid players around him. So in short, i think we're lucky this year that RB may not be a priority and we can get away with JJK as back up. He'll either get going with a few games under his belt (Maybe Nkounkou is fitter and more powerful and could get settled faster) and he'll be a challenger for RB, or he will leave next summer and we can replace. Its going to be tough for the young players to play in this crap second XI because you'll have a midfield of Siggy, Davies and maybe Delph, Walcott - crucial positions. Can't overstate the brilliant impact of the three new midfielders. I think definitely if his three nearest players were Holgate, Rodriguez & Allan it would be a different story!

The problem is both Kenny and Coleman are good enough to be back up however I don't think either is good enough. However I would like Kenny to get a run of games with James in front of him just to make sure. That is if we don't buy someone first choice before window shuts.
