“The Homegrown Player Rule is an initiative of the English Premier League to allow for more domestic players to be developed from an earlier age in the hope of nurturing more homegrown talent. It forms part of the League's Elite Player Performance Plan. The Premier League proposed a maximum of 17 non-"homegrown" players in each club squad, and the squad size is a maximum of 25. This means that in a full squad of 25 players, there must be at least eight homegrown players.”
If this is the case then surely there must be a U11s player who is better than Kenny

A new contract for JJK is the reality of the mess Moshiri has made, blowing all that money on rubbish means we cant just let him go and throw money at another club for a replacement, not unless we sell a few.
I fully expect his contact to be very cheap by PL players standards
Anyway he had one good game recently, Iwobi has turned fans opinion in his favor right now, JJK has to do that same.... if he can
“One good game recently”, out of nearly fifty he’s played for the club! Reality is he’s not good enough, and along with a couple of others has not really got any better in the last five or six years!

I agree on this but it's a reflection on we're the squad is now that we might keep him, a cheap option, that's Everton now

The last sentence is the key, he is that bad he can't be classed as cover and will cost us points that we cannot accept.

….sadly, I think so. I like the lad, I’ve watched his progress through the ranks but I genuinely feel he’s a high risk liability.

You only have to look at two vital goals conceded at Burnley. Skinned by the opposition left back who then sets up a goal with Kenny ponderous in his wake. He has no powers of recovery, once the ball is beyond him he’s a spectator.

Then as we are pushing for a winner at the other end of the pitch the ball falls to him on the edge of their box. He has no quality or composure to exploit his position, he’s dispossessed, Burnley break and score.

Similar to Holgate, he also hangs a leg out or commits more obvious fouls in key areas of the pitch that have cost us. I honestly struggle to see what positives Kenny offers other than being a good lad. Lampard clearly sees something that I don’t.

Send him to us at West Brom, our crap players will make him look amazing, probably be in Division One end of next season, while you at it chuck Holgate in too, anymore you want to give away? ?

Seems like a great lad and top pro. He's just not at the level we need.

In fairness, he has played out of positions lot but he very nearly cost us today with his inability to stop a cross.

He did well enough today.

If he leaves at the end of the season, we will still need a few squad players like him on low wages. I don’t know if there are any U23 players who could step up. Nkounkou may be left back cover, but I doubt he is returning to be honest.

Getting cover that is good enough, yet willing to sit on the bench is really hard.

Blue Bill and Mosh-Man (and probably Denise) see Gurnalot as a member of the 'Everton family' so his position here at Everton is secured until he's at least 65 years old (if he chooses to coach youth teams).

If he gets offered a contract extension will say an awful lot about us as a club. We have Godfrey who is capable of doing an acceptable job in an emergency at left back, and we're surely looking to play a lot more of Patterson next season with Coleman in more of a supporting role. He needs to leave to become regular elsewhere, and I'm sure he'll have takers in the Championship to put him in their XI, could even probably stay in the North West if he doesn't want to go too far; Blackburn, Preston, Blackpool could easily be his level.
