Jonjoe Kenny

There won't be much point getting through this battle if people refuse to learn. Nobody is ever going to fear Jonjoe Kenny...except Evertonians.
I mean a versatile squad player with no transfer fee on what today are fairly modest wages isn't bad I reckon? That along with already being embedded in the squad so no bedding in period foreign players often require. Still each to their own. I would be happy to see him get an extension.

I mean if we are honest in the Premier league it's true? I want Patterson to be boss but he hasn't shown anything above JJK level up to now. Hopefully he will and can justify the massive transfer fee he cost.
Thats just it.

If you gave everybody on this forum a choice, who is the better player, Gray or Gordon, 95% would pick Gordon, despite Gray scoring twice as many goals.

Perception is everything.

So would I, but what happens when, like this season, they are all injured?
Exactly. Why not have versatile backup with experience in multiple European leagues. I still think there is more to JJK than we have seen but based on only what we have seen he can do a job. If I was him I would spend the whole summer working on technique, crossing and control under pressure drills to give himself the best chance at moving forward in his career.

It doesn't matter how cheap he is if he is basically useless. False economy. I mean, by your logic, I'd be turning out for us every week. To be fair, I could do just as good an impression of an enthusiastic competition winner as Jonjoe does.

Not quite twice as many but 33% better output. Although in overall contribution Gordon is ahead

That's your opinion Pal, you are entitled to it. I just reckon he's got enough about him to play a role as a squad player.

I have no idea. I haven't seen enough of him.

If he's anything like the vast majority of the rest of the squad, though, I'd say "the bin".
Okay but what I've seen of JJK is some athletic struggles some decent touches, some nervous energy and some controlled assists. He's been willing to play both fullback positions and did well sometimes and not so well others. He's got ability to contribute which is exactly what is required of a squad player and he has a lot of opportunity to improve if he dedicates himself outside of training.

I'm sure he is a good lad. I have no reason to dislike the man. All I can say is that the evidence before my eyes tells me that he simply lacks the requisite quality to enjoy a successful long-term Premier League career. Jonjoe himself has already been successful - Everton pay him a small fortune every week to be the weakest of links in the weakest of teams. But if Everton wish to prosper in the Premier League, they need better than Jonjoe - even as a squad player.
