I've said a few times mate that Dowell's skill set and languid style remind me very much of Matt Le Tissier. You can see Tiss in some of his goals too.

We have some very good young players at Everton at the moment and it's important that we find a way to give them first team football. Players like Kenny, Walsh and Dowell all need to get open age exposure next season and hopefully the cups/Europa games will allow that. But it's no use just playing the kids in games en bloc like we did against Krasnodar. They need to be playing alongside experienced players.

I'm sure Dowell and Kenny will both get plenty of game time this pre-season.

I still stick by though that, from what I've seen of Dowell over the last two seasons, he could still do with a loan to the Championship to improve his all-round game.

I agree his all round game needs improving. Where would you send him though Toff. The championship may not be the ideal place to send a player with Dowells skill set. Look what happened with Barkley. Maybe French or Dutch league may be more appropriate. There may be lots of games to play next year with Europa etc so they may decide he's needed as a squad player.

Kenny though. I think he is ready now to cover for Seamus. Been stand out at this tournament.

Kenny I'd say is ready.

I think Dowell to a Championship would benefit him precisely because it wouldn't 'suit his skillset'. Working on weaknesses is the only way to improve.

Have to disagree mate. In fact I have the opposite view. I believe a wrong choice of loanee could be disastrous for the lads development.

Maybe some top division Dutch club .....Make it happen RK

He should start next season he has been spot on with his passing, his defensive duties and his ability to join in the attack. At least till Coleman gets back.

Dowell would do great at reading imo. Stam would sort out his languid style in 10 minutes
