Wouldn't argue with that tbh, lets face it though, the problem we're having at the moment is we're missing a very good right back in Seamus, so it's not really a surprise that we're struggling to find the right balance out on the right hand side.

But that situation isn't helped when you play a defence minded centre back in the right back spot mate and then ask him to play positionally the way coleman does.

..it's only fair to say that Holgate made a couple of brilliant defensive blocks, one of which stopped us going 2 down but the modern RB has to influence at both ends of the pitch. Kenny at least deserves the last few games. Holgate looks a bit lightweight to be CB in a flat back four but I agree with those that suggest he be given a go.
Perhaps we return to a back 3 (Holgate, Jags, Williams) with Kenny and Baines as wingbacks? Tbh nobody who has played on the wing recently in our current formation has impressed much so not sure what we'd be losing.

Well, yes, but we don't have a recognised right back to stand in for Seamus and, who on here saw us get pummelled by Stoke when we played three at the back ?

If we'd played Kenny as soon as Seamus got crocked then, as soon as he'd made a few defensive mistakes, people would have been fuming as to why Holgate wasn't playing there.

Took his chance and didn't look out of place on the ball at all, give him the right back spot to impress these last two games and who knows, could be the making of the lad.

Absolutely. Davies, Barkley and Gueye in the middle. Rom and Valencia up front.

Depends on opinion i guess mate, always rather see a player playing in his natural position - especially when their isnt a huge gulf in experience or age

Exactly.

I suppose you could argue that Kenny should have been given a go earlier in the season, but, earlier in the season, we had something to play for, whereas now all we have to play for is a bit of pride, which is something we seem to be lacking in.
The season ended on January 7th when we were dumped out of the cup by Leicester.
