To be fair, a 20 year old lad in his first season of PL footie and today he was up against the best English striker and attacking midfielder of their generation, and Son, Dembele and Eriksen certainly aren't bad either. Kenny didn't stack up too great today but very few defenders have against Spurs when they're in that sort of form.
Sound bites I like him but it’s abundantly clear he has a flaw in his game.

He goes to ground early far too Often. Personally I think Perhaps in u23
Level he wins the ball But he is now playing against bigger faster stronger players.
He will learn it will take time

During Coleman first 6 months of first team regular, I recall a young lad lacking ball control, headless chicken when going forward, defensively not as good as Hibbert and of course very naïve and Coleman was 22 if I’m not wrong.

Kenny is 20? Give him time, unless you’d prefer to drop him and play Martina as right back.

Stop rewriting history. Coleman was always sound on the ball. He went to the Championship with Blackpool and they were calling him the Irish Messi.

You must be watching the wrong player if you think Coleman started out as good as he is compare to the last 2 season.

Look, every young player needs time to improve, wether he reach of standard of Coleman is impossible to judge in 6 months.

Some of the poster completely writing him off is simply unrealistic expectation.

It looked to me like tonight’s ‘mistake’ was as a result of the half time team talk. Looked like SA sent them out to close down space before Spurs receive the ball. Certainly not going to knee jerk him to the bin for that.

Kenny is clearly a decent player. A young Evertonian desperate to impress... he could probably do with a loan to a top championship side were he can improve out of the limelight, work on his attacking game and defensive decision making. When did we become so quick to slate a young Scouse lad?

Coleman looked a lot better than Kenny does now in my eyes. I remember his first full season at right back and he was making defensive errors that cost us quite a few points but we all knew there was a player in there.

Hopefully he's back soon for the sake of the team and he returns at the level he was. He's just so much better than Kenny at absolutely everything.

Again, Coleman regular for us at 22?Kenny 20.

Coleman at 20 might not be as superior as Kenny at 20.

Of course Coleman is better than Kenny if you compare them now. But I’m glad we have a technically sound Kenny to be an understudy at this point of time.

colemans attacking play was insanely good at blackpool, he was a huge factor in their promotion, and he immediately looked like a player for us, he has of course improved, but it was obvious he was a player from the get go, just a few park enders preferred hibbert. With Kenny, who knows, I've seen some decent defensive attributes, but I can't say he stands out, apparently he had an attacking game in the ressies so maybe we haven't seen it yet

Lol where is all this revisionism regarding Coleman coming from? One of Coleman's breakout points was when he came off the bench for a side 2-0 down at home to Spurs incidentally and played with such brilliant attacking impetus that we clawed back a 2-2 (Howard also made a last minute penalty save).

It is unfair to compare the present day Coleman with the present day Kenny, because Coleman is far superior. It is also unfair to compare the present day Kenny with old Coleman, because old Coleman was far superior.
