It's an absolute travesty the way this lad has been handled by Koeman this season. One of the stand out performers in the U23 side last season, has looked at the very least, comfortable, in the limited games he's featured in for the first team and his attributes are that he is solid at the back and likes to get forward. And yet Koeman has deemed him no where near good enough judging by him not getting near the starting line up, all at the expense of a player he's brought in who is an absolute liability in defence.
I didn't want to judge Martina too harshly as I think some had written him off before he'd even put on the shirt, and he has something to offer going forward but defensively he is an absolute detriment to the team. His teammates know it, the fans know it and he probably even knows it himself. The only one who can't see it or is too stubborn to admit it is the man who's pretending to manage the team at the moment. Koeman.
Then in the games he's played Holgate, it's another mismanagement by Koeman. Holgate is a defensive minded player, and is most likely going to be a centre half. For all of his promise as a defender, he is very limited going forward so this is another reason to give Kenny a chance at least.
