Amidst the negativity and pessimism I want to be able to have some hope for the long season ahead and give Koeman the best possible chance. (I feel on my own here!)
Returning to the toxic atmosphere that was,under the latter stages of the Martinez reign is a depressing thought. We simply have to give Koeman time to put this right. Watching the likes of Stones and others almost dreading to make a mistake at Goodison through fear of the anger and frustration pouring down from the stands was very sad, and already I am sensing the same thing is going to happen. Schniderlin, Martinez, Klassen, Ramirez, Williams are all in the sights of Everton's most negative at the moment. One thing is for certain, it won't help or improve the team.
I'm proud to be an Evertonian. We are some of the most passionate and loyal fans around. sure, the last few performances have been poor. But i do wonder if we had the same fixture list as last season's opening four or five matches, whether there would be so much anxiety. The opening matches have been very tough.
I take us to come through this. But we need to be behind the team, not waiting for the first mistake before jumping on the team's back.
