Having their boss tell them when they've ballsed it up isn't necessarily a bad thing. Though I would rather Koeman told senior players the same as well, when they quite clearly have.

Thats my big gripe with it mate.
He seems to single out the younger ones at times (dcl the exception).
For me i feel its as if koeman is waiting for them to put in a poor performance so he can critisise them.
I have a feeling alot of people will be unhappy with the starting xi on saturday when it comes to kenny, davies, vlasic and holgate

Of course, we all know the underperforming Baines, schnederlin, siggurdson etc will be straight back in the starting 11

Held his own defensively. Can't think why he shouldn't start again on Saturday over Martina.

A Dutch-speaking Frenchman, eh? Can't be that many of them around in football....

Or maybe it was just self-important fantasist bollocks that certain fans lap up because it fits their narrative?

never heard it but to be fair if they're not from the UK theres a good chance the person is multi-lingual

Sure, just an unusual combination of nationality and language. (I worked in a part of France popular with Dutch and never came across anyone French who spoke it outside basic phrases.) Somebody from Belgium would be a different matter, of course.

Anyway, Jonjoe...

Did people who were at the match think he had a good game? Snods seemed to like his performance on the commentary without being overly impressed. Certainly, if Holgate was played out of position to allow Kenny in, it seems that he is more 'trusted'?

or maybe he trusts Holgate more to play in a position he is more foreign to

Heard a rumour (2nd hand from a bloke who knows someone who works at FF.....) that a few players have stood up to him & told him what they think. Allegedly Lookman & Davies are 2 of them.

TBH, there was nothing you could nail Koeman on. He did OK. Defensively he looked better than Cuco (well he made a few tackles, so...), but going forward he didn't find the space that Cuco does or deliver any crosses. Hopefully he will come good.
 
he does like to often state some youngsters aren't ready etc but refuses to criticize some senior players even after horrific performances/form ( Williams, morgan, klaassan to name a few )

Yeah, I wouldn't disagree with that but we know what's coming at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon.

Liked the look of Vlasic, always looking to go forward with the ball, tidy on the ball, quick too. Everything we're lacking really.
