Thkught he did ok. Defo an imprivement on cuco and looks like a full back. Turned his back on and should have gone out to pedro for the goal ( must get that from watching baines) but is now a starter for me until the return of coleman.

Putting things into perspective, he’s started two games now , still very early days for a talented 20 year old right back. Kenny has been a top full back in his age group for four years now , progressing nicely each year. He’s not someone who can rely on out and out physicality , so makes up for it with his positioning and tenacity in the tackle. He’s also adopting to how more senior players play, with the U23s he was a senior player , make a run and the ball was delivered to him and he’d make a cross, there is understandably a bit more reluctance for first team players to feed him the ball.
The big positive is that with Unsy he will have his weakness pointed out , worked on and improved in terms of what’s needed at PL level. He’ll undoubtedly have the odd blip along the way but by the end of the season along with Seamus we should have our right back position sorted for the future.

Spot on mate.

Stick with him and hel be a much improved player come the new year. Like to see Unsy do this with a lot of the young lads as I believe we have a good crop that we should build around rather than spunk money on no bodies (bar a striker :))

his 2 starts recently have come against arsenal ( not in the best of from but sanchez is world class and so is ozil on his day, both where on there day ) and the premier league champions ( not the first team but some talented players )

keep him in against the likes of Leicester/Watford and see how he does because he's only going to improve

and he could play with a bag over his head and still be better than cuco the clown

Happy with JJK so far. Keep playing him alongside an experienced CB ( ideally Keane, because Jags and Williams aren't here for much longer now ) and with a bit of support in front of him ( Lennon worked well with him ) so that he has the best chance to develop to his fullest potential. If and when Coleman comes back, they can split time. If, God forbid, Coleman is not the same player when he comes back then at least Kenny has had some development time and is better placed to take over sooner rather than later.

Hes only a kid but lets be realistic he looks like he will be an average full back unless he develops considerably - most players who turn out to be top class show strong signs of this immediately amid inconsistency early in their career. I'm afraid after watching a lot of performances for the U23 and the couple hes played for the first team his performances he doesnt look like he will be.

I think you're in a minority of one on this one.
