Honestly, I've never paid any attention to him, but he'd fill a need in the squad. Hopefully that 8m price tag comes down a bit.

Yes he is comfortable on the ball and can distribute with both feet but injuries aside, he has only ever looked top draw playing alongside a world class defensive partner. Has struggled massively since the departures of Ferdinand and Vidic.

Very true - I think we all want to see Jags and Stones as the main pairing anyway, so no idea why people are fuming - he's as good a third choice as we'll get.

He should be o.k then mate as I don't think either Stones or Jags would be too shabby as a partner

Stones, Jags, and Coleman will never get a knock and will never need a rest? Ok mate. He'll probably have 15 or so starts across all comps even if everyone is healthy all season which history says they won't be.

Strange one if we're going to spend big money on back up, and even stranger that Evans is prepared to leave United and not be guaranteed first team like he would be at Villa, Newcastle etc.
