Jonny Evans. Strongly linked by proper newspapers. Hmm.

Assuming he comes for, lets say, 6m upfront, then is he ?

Laughing at the idea of Evans teaching John Stones, like. Our physios are learning the overtime clauses in their contracts, about the only education to come out of this, if it happens.

Doesn't matter how good you are when you pop out. It's what you pick up along the way gives you the edge.

People saying he's going to be a bench warmer are just wrong. He's immediately 3rd CB and 2nd RB. Does no one remember last season? Players get hurt/can't play every match.
1. Coleman
2. Hibbert
3. Stones
4. Browning
5. Evans/Jagielka

At right back that is.

If you don't think a 21 year old can learn nothing from a player who was won multiple titles and trophies at a team who were the best in the country as recently as three seasons ago then you clearly don't know a lot about the sport you follow.

That, or you're just being deliberately dense.

1. Has the ability to play it out from the back.
2. Can defend and has proven to be solid.
3. Has Prem experience and has a winning mentality.
4. Still only 27yrs old.

If we end up paying £8mil it will be something like £5mil with add-ons.

I remember us paying £6mil for a 32yr old Distin, which in all honesty seemed like shocking business at the time. But he ended up being a great player (last season excluded).

I know everyone is fuming atm but when the fume cloud subsides, I think most will see that when you are buying players with Prem experience and qualify as home grown, you pay a bit extra.

On a side note, @bizzaro when was the last time you saw daylight? You know, being locked up in @davek 's rape dungeon and all. You little gimp.

I suppose if his name was Jonni Evansinho, we would all be buzzing.

I for one will be welcoming the lad to Everton and have no intention of writing him off before a ball has been kicked.
He's boss on Fifa, I saw him play on telly too. So I reckon he would be OK.

Just give him a chance FFS!

Pretend you haven't seen him play 131 times for the most widely covered team in the country for the last 9 years, and ergo 'don't know if he's any good' and 'he might turn out to be good playing in a team that finished 23 points behind United last season'.

In fact, let's just pretend he's boss period, and get behind the team!:coffee:
