Rode his luck a bit tonight but no doubt he is an excellent keeper. Still prefer the keepers from yesteryear that come off the line to claim or punch the ball. Seems that most keepers stay put nowadays despite having a massive advantage.

He makes mistakes and needs to start learning from some of them but he is still young and improving. Some of the shouts in here trying to say Stek is better than him is embarrassing! He is a talented goalkeeper and the best we have had in a while.

Sorry Coggy, didn’t mean to offend, but this lad really never will be good enough to lace Nev’s gloves (did he wear them?) I know the game is different but I still think a keeper should command the box and now it’s easier than ever

No need to apologise mate. I agree with you totally that he will never be as good as Nev, and hopefully with experience he can close the gap a bit. If he does we will be all be happy.

Big Nev was also dropped after the derby demolition at Goodison and loaned back out. I think comparisons can only be made after 3 or 4 seasons at Everton but it is highly doubtful he will be close to what Nev was at his best but that applies to basically all keepers.

Pickford got an 8 from the mirror,and whatever else he may get,

Brilliant saves and his long balls played a part in both goals. Hairy moment in the second half but got away with it

If you can't be good then you better be lucky... He's had a terrible game there tonight and wasn't punished for it.

From my perspective he's a huge upgrade on what we had but there is a big journey for him to go on if he wants to be considered as one of the best goalkeepers around.
