2018/19 Jordan Pickford

He's conceded one goal more than Pickford with a vastly inferior defence in front of him.

How many do you think Pickford would have been picking out of his net this season if he had their back four in front of him? More than 17, for sure.
And for a team who've scored twice as many goals. It's almost like 1 team plays to attack and score goals and the other plays to not concede.

Most stats are for modern day morons stick to the NFL or whatever other yank sports cream over them

90% of people with half a brain can see Pickford is a very good keeper who makes the odd mistake like the very best do and have done since football began
I think it's a bit more than that. His positional sense is moderate, although better than it was. He still needs a higher starting position a lot of the time. He looks nervous under the high ball, but many keepers do these days. His shot-stopping and distribution are very good. I would say he is at the level of someone like Ben Foster a couple of years ago or Joe Hart before he lost his confidence. A very good keeper, prone to the odd clanger but generally pretty good.

Delete that stat then, still had a better command of his box with almost an identical goals to save ratio. And he was 37 with 99% of the fan base demanding he goes.

To be fair you are probably talking to the wrong person here with stats as I don't believe in them.

I don't see any "jumped out the way of the ball" stats so I don't think these stats can be of any use in measuring Tim Howard.

He’s a good shot stopper, a very good goalkeeper he is not

There’s a massive difference in the two

Funnily enough I was just looking at some YouTube vids of Timmy boy, the boy made some tremendous saves but like the boy Pickford was prone to massive balls ups.

Hence my comparison, in my eyes there’s no difference. Like Foster, Hart and so many more in years gone by. Good match of the day highlight reel

It’s almost like footie isn’t a team game.

40 odd years of watching football have taught me the best way of judging the game is on basic statistics, not watching the game just taking raw stats. For example cottee’s goal per game ratio for Everton clearly indicates his ability over the inferior sharp or if you prefer Simple goals scored rather than per game ratio both Cottee and Naismith were superior to that Gray fella .

we are not the RS so get behind him and show him that he's part of us, we don't throw away after 1 mistake like they did to Karius, people forget that Karius had between 15-17 games where he didn't put a foot wrong. Pickford for us has pulled off great saves and great with his kicks. he is part of the reason why we are looking upwards not downwards

It's not one mistake, it's the latest in a regular procession. Good keepers aren't by the number of spectacular saves that they make (and Pickford has a habit of 'showboating' to make a regular save look needlessly spectacular - 'one for the cameras') but by the low number of errors that they make. Pickford is prone to errors. As for being great with his kicks.....at least half of them are booted straight into touch. He's n average keeper. we could do better!

This @davek has a real dislike of Pickford hasn’t he ? Noticeable many times before his mistake on Sunday

Thankfully the majority on here see him as a very good keeper which he is although he’s no Nick Pope (Daveks boy)
He dislikes anything good about the club and likes anything that is bad!!! Most of us have him on ignore
