Hopefully sold in the long run, uselessHe will be a better goalkeeper after two weeks on the bench to clear his mind. He's shot. It happens. He will become better for it in the long run.
My worst fears are becoming a reality...
Pickfords rash behaviour is creating panic in our defence & it's spreading like a disease, his actions are too hastily & shows lack of maturity & judgement he is becoming a very unreliable keeper.
Keepers need to be confident, sensible, reliable & make good judgement calls during a game,Pickford seems to get more excited & reckless the more important the game becomes, impetuous & impulsive performances are becoming his forte which is not helping our defence as their lack of trust in our keeper becomes ever more apparent...
In fairness he’s faced more scrutiny than just about any goalkeeper I can remember as his initial good form isn’t henWorld Cup angered elements of the kopite media who couldn’t wait to jump on him as soon as he started the season. He’s under immense pressure every week whereas other keeers such as Leno Allison Lloris De Gea can make awful errors yet they’re barely mentioned. I feel like he’s trying too hard now and the mistakes are occurring. Needs a few weeks out of the limelight. Saying that, the finish from Son for the first one was ridiculous when you have players missing open goals from a yard out v the RS.

He doesn't learn, that's his problem.I have been saying this for some time now. Pickford can be brilliant and he can be gash. The one thing he never is, is consistent, and that means he is unreliable and unsettles his defence.
His problems are not lack of ability, but imho, lack of maturity and poor decision making. He needs taking out of the firing line for his own good - and ours!
24 these days is prime age for most keepersPickford is still rather young for a goalie, at 24.
Here's what happened with a previous goalie of ours who was 24 at the time
'On 6 November 1982, he conceded five goals in a 5–0 defeat to Mersey rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park. Kendall then dropped Southall as part of a shake-up at the club. He spent January and February on loan at John McGrath's Port Vale, and played nine Fourth Division games.'
He needs to really want to be the best. Southall did, with ruthless dedication to training. Whether Pickford does, whether he wilts, believes the summer hype or genuinely improves is up to him.
No I want him to calm down and concentrate on the game, stop his mad rushes out of the area when thre is no need for them, I want him to takecommand of his six yard area, stop his quick kick outs which go out of play or straight to the opposition goalkeeper, in other words ask his coach for some help , he really needs it at the moment, or do you think he is playing well at the moment?
Cant remember Southall ever strolling round thinking he was Dino Zoff or Sepp Maier the way Pickford thinks he's Gianluigi Buffon or Manuel Neuer.Pickford is still rather young for a goalie, at 24.
