Sorry WHAT.

Without wanting to put words in his mouth, i think the point he’s trying to make is that he’s arguably amongst the best in the league when it comes to those sprawling. out-stretched, fingertip saves. What my Dad calls ‘Hollywood’ saves.

But when it boils down to it, his positioning, distribution and command of his area is very average. At times, it hasn’t been that good. His communication with his defence, concentration and resilience also leave a great deal to be desired.

He is still young and he will improve with experience, but i’m not sure he will ever outgrow the ambitions of this club. By that, i mean I don’t think he’ll ever be a top six goalkeeper. If, by some chain of events, we break into that category, I don’t think he will be a part of it.

Think he’s lost confidence after the derby and is now scared of making mistakes which is why he won’t come out and claim stuff. This means he’s mentally weak, just like the rest

He is already England number one and is a fine young keeper. He has the potential to be top class. I think part of the issue is the shambolic defense in front of him, which leaves him exposed.

When a manager ignores any defensive organisation this is what happens

It's Silva's fault that the defence lack any confidence

To be honest Frank I just see the same keeper I saw at sland, under koeman, rhino and fat sam. If anything under Silva he is making less saves so possibly has less to do, not sure on the stats for shots against etc comparatively but that's the way it appears

Hey got massively big headed but then plunged into a depth after the derby that he can’t get out of. Should shut his mouth and get to work doing the hard yards to rebuild his game.

I wouldn’t say he was at fault for any of the goals yesterday. Our defence was virtually nonexistent.
Exactly this, not Pickfords fault no one can win a header and then they all just stand there watching with their arms up while the oppo have 3-4 players unmarked in the 6 yard box waiting for a tap in.

no way is englands number 1
Who's challenging him for that role.

Joe Hart lol, the keeper at Stoke languishing inthe bottom half of the championship that no PL club will take a punt on him, Maybe Heaton or Pope at Burnley.

It's the shockingly bad era of the English keeper in my lifetime, it seem the English keeper is still being coached to be nothing but a shot stopper and the game has evolved the last 10 years with defensive high lines and keepers who are sweepers and also have a greater command of the penalty area using punching the ball instead of trying to catch the ball.

Thought the only one he could have got was the headed goal. Its the second ball where we have been woeful all season.
The ball is in the air 8/9 yards out , that should be bread & butter for any keeper.
Then again if he's told to stay on his line and let the defenders deal with it ???
