Awful keeper, awful at Sunderland and at us. Match of the Day highlight reel and people actually thought we’d signed a top class keeper

Sorry WHAT.
He is already England number one and is a fine young keeper. He has the potential to be top class. I think part of the issue is the shambolic defense in front of him, which leaves him exposed.Without wanting to put words in his mouth, i think the point he’s trying to make is that he’s arguably amongst the best in the league when it comes to those sprawling. out-stretched, fingertip saves. What my Dad calls ‘Hollywood’ saves.
But when it boils down to it, his positioning, distribution and command of his area is very average. At times, it hasn’t been that good. His communication with his defence, concentration and resilience also leave a great deal to be desired.
He is still young and he will improve with experience, but i’m not sure he will ever outgrow the ambitions of this club. By that, i mean I don’t think he’ll ever be a top six goalkeeper. If, by some chain of events, we break into that category, I don’t think he will be a part of it.
If potential for top class means over 100+ goals conceded in a season and a half then sure. Top class. He is already England number one and is a fine young keeper. He has the potential to be top class. I think part of the issue is the shambolic defense in front of him, which leaves him exposed.
Ahem lolIf potential for top class means over 100+ goals conceded in a season and a half then sure. Top class.
To be honest Frank I just see the same keeper I saw at sland, under koeman, rhino and fat sam. If anything under Silva he is making less saves so possibly has less to do, not sure on the stats for shots against etc comparatively but that's the way it appearsWhen a manager ignores any defensive organisation this is what happens
It's Silva's fault that the defence lack any confidence
He has absolutely no competition which is never a good thing. He is already England number one and is a fine young keeper. He has the potential to be top class. I think part of the issue is the shambolic defense in front of him, which leaves him exposed.
Exactly this, not Pickfords fault no one can win a header and then they all just stand there watching with their arms up while the oppo have 3-4 players unmarked in the 6 yard box waiting for a tap in.I wouldn’t say he was at fault for any of the goals yesterday. Our defence was virtually nonexistent.
Who's challenging him for that role.no way is englands number 1
Thought the only one he could have got was the headed goal. Its the second ball where we have been woeful all season.I wouldn’t say he was at fault for any of the goals yesterday. Our defence was virtually nonexistent.
