I think people groaning about redoing his contract are missing a central point. Teams can't block a player from moving to a club where they can get significantly higher wages just because "he has a contract." If they do that, it becomes harder to recruit players in the future. This is because players naturally want to earn more if they improve, and if we get a reputation as a club that prevents them from earning more then we are less likely to attract the kind of high-upside young players that we need to move forward. Therefore, we either need to raise his salary or be prepared to sell him.

Using him as an example is unfair, he wanted to go just like Stones and Barkley nothing we could to keep them and putting performances in.
I didnt say we could keep him fam.
My point was we didnt replace him after we sold him.
