No keeper on both sides had a save to make ......it was a peculiar game ......we won so Pickford did his job .......and I still think he has to improve.....

No we cannot. We want a keeper who makes easy shots look amazing and cant catch crosses. Asking for anything else is mean on the raver

Reading the Watford forum and some of their fans are blaming Fosters persistent time wasting for the added time in the 1st half that we scored 2 from.
As much as im 50/50 on the lad some fans are just looking for any excuse to slate him when most fans from other clubs actually haven't got amazing keepers either.

Actually, outside of his mistake today. Guaita has been one of the best keepers the past 2 years in both save % and expected goals allowed/90. Pickford has been average to bottom half in both. So actually yes I believe he’s better than Pickford and is playing as a top 5 keeper. My son is a Palace fan and we watch pretty much all the Everton & Palace games. In Arsenal game couple weeks ago he made a double save that if it was for a top 6 side would have been all over the highlights. I don’t think Pickford gets a finger to the first one

Agree, I think he should have done better with the first but it wasn’t a howler. Some others save it and perhaps Pickford does on another day. No fault for the second. At some point youre anticipating where they go with the shot when they’re that close.
As bad as he has been we sold the only viable contender for his place yesterday...'.
The amount of goals that he has let in, you HAVE to ask whether he has a culpable role in stopping SOME of them. There has been an absolutely absurd number of goals allowed in the last few years when he's been in the net. He's a great shot stopper but suspect at quite a few other things.

It's not that he's necessarily making mistakes, it's that we aren't getting any crucial saves from him. I go back to the City game where Jesus scored a really superb couple of goals but realistically he had a chance at both and saving one might have got us a point. You just need something like that from time to time and today is another one where he didn't do it despite the 3 points.
