He didn't see it late, he just wasn't ready as the kick was taken. He is still jumping around on his line when the whistle blows. If he sets himself when he should be doing he more than likely saves it. He has some flaws in his goalkeeping mechanics (for want of a better term).

Hes always vunerable from free kicks and crosses because he lacks height.

Its his attitude towards the end that grates most and shows you he does not have a winning mentality.

Gary Neville was incredulous at his attitude and rightly so.

Any decent exeperienced pro would nail him to the floor in the changing room and any manager with any bottle would bin him to reserves for a few weeks.

Mindful of Neville’s comment towards the end, and with regard to some of Pickford’s erratic play at times (as noted by Neville Southall) - to say nothing of his demeanour at times - I’ve often wondered whether he’s on the spectrum.
If so, he has my sympathies and I wonder whether the medical staff have picked up on any of this.
