2020/21 Jordan Pickford

Funny enough two Red friends reckoned we were OK to get a point at Burnley, given the likelihood they would come back from that thrashing at Citeh. I don't agree but goes to show, maybe we are not as bad as we always say we are.

He could try proving we have a clean sheet mentality by keeping the ball out of his net for 90 mins

His teammates will need need to cut out some of the mistakes, big ask considering an ever changing back line. Although Allan was at fault Saturday, hopefully Pickford gave him a good verbal slap in the dressing room, to remind him he is a proper league where every team is competitive.

Pickford being interview on our defending.

“I know we conceded one [against Burnley], but you’ve got set-pieces coming in, you’ve got Dominic heading things, Michael [Keane] and Yerry [Mina] doing the same and players like Allan and Andre [Gomes] putting in blocks.

“That’s a clean sheet mentality.

“We’re showing the Everton fans how much we want to keep a clean sheet. That passion, those challenges going in, those headers being won, we know the Everton fans love that. "

The problem is it's hard to take this seriously when we've got one of the worst goals conceded in the prem, only Leeds, Fulham and West Brom have a worst record than us.

tired of the “we got a bad result but we’re trying really hard and next time we’re going to try even harder“ remarks. Up and down the squad and even from Coleman the leader.

STFU and do it.

It also proves that Southgate is a fart of a man with no bottle or authority in the dressing room at all, because there are at least two English keepers better than him.

I mean Southgate picks players who are I) playing; and II) not losing a lot. Dean Henderson isn't playing enough. Nick Pope is in a relegation dogfight.

What you reckon? Alex McArthy?

lol

"We head the ball" doesn't count as a clean sheet mentality.

I definitely see a different mentality from us this year, a bit more 'protect the goal at all costs'. However this seems to have manifested in our centre backs dropping back to the edge of the six yard, which invites pressure.

Not sure that's going to work.

Pope is still clearly better than Pickford, don’t care if his team can’t score goals and are in a relegation battle. And Pickford plays for us, who do lose a lot.

Dunno mate. Wouldn't say it was clear. I don't like the idea of picking someone in the bottom 5 who is used to shipping goals and losing.

Don't even like the idea of signing a keeper like that... oh wait
