First time in a long while the "great shot stopper" shouts are accurate. If he's that guy, even with the mistake, we'll be fine.

How do you people even manage to blame him for the penalty? He did what he was supposed to in that situation, ran at it and hoped he'd get the ball first. And that's what every keeper does and should do, no point in staying at the line.

Because we are all goalkeepers on here mate, you should know that.
Been more of a criticism if he hadnt come out, he made the right decision imo.

The only thing he did wrong was come rushing out when he saw it was Havertz.

Anyone else that's the right play

Pickford has been very good since coming back in after those few Olsen games

I liked his reaction to giving up the Penalty too. He owned it as a mistake, was mad at himself, but didn't sulk. He's maturing before our eyes.

I thought it was another solid performance from him tonight.

All goalkeepers make that challenge and get caught out by it at some point.

He tried to get us to counter quickly but our forwards weren't up for it.

I don't even think it was much of a mistake. He pretty much had to come for it and Havertz was switched on enough to dink it and buy the penalty.

I didn't see why he had to come for it at all tbh. Godfrey is running alongside him and all he has to do is make the player take a shot. Another hot-headed mistake.

The rest of the saves were great but there's no hiding that 2nd goal was another mistake.

That pen thing can happen any game, he's not the 1st to do it and wont be the last, kept score down and motm v chelsea i would say,
He saved us from an embarrassment of a scoreline tonight - a rush of blood for their 2nd - no chance with the the OG -I could not see us scoring with our midfield set up due to injuries......
They are a very strong team squad - we are not .......

Pickford looks leaner and his performance on Monday was excellent (maybe he could have stayed on his feet for the pen) and it looked like he may have worked on his concentration and positioning. If he gets back to being the decent keeper we need then it's a win win for us and for him.
