Same with fans on here. They just don't like him. Last nights save was a reactionary save meaning he just had to save it without control. No keeper could have saved that shot with control and some keepers would not have even had the reaction to save it. But Yes it goes back into a dangerous area so it is a fault of the keeper. ha ha ha total negativity and dislike shines through from some people. It was not a worldy save but it was a very good save.I’ve not read back so might be covering old ground but did anyone notice how desperate the commentators were to make out he was dodgy?
He made a cracking low save with his right hand and they spent minutes going on about how it went to a dangerous area and he always does that - he pushed it away and past the Scottish attacker! If someone passes a ball past an opposition player do the commentary team lose their mind that if the defender was standing somewhere else they may have intercepted it?
There was also another moment where one of the CBs passed back to Pickford and put him under pressure so he adjusted his feet and got the ball clear and the commentator interrupted a story for McCoist to say something like ‘Pickford nearly got his feet in a muddle there’ - he didn’t though, he adjusted so he could clear it long in his stronger left foot.
My laughter was prompted by the idiot commentators who suggested he could have done better than get a hand on it. Excellent save. Was not helped much by that lot in white shirts.
He's won me over with his performances in the latter part of the season since he straightened himself out, he's a lot more mature, calmer and assured these days. This season more than any should show why we should back our young players. Pickford has sustained such abuse in the media and by the Reds, and even yesterday the bias can't keep away - incredible! He's a young, talented, hotheaded keeper who's not quite matured, but he's got loads of skill! Why would we want anyone else? While we're growing, we can't afford or attract a better keeper, so why not let him develop with us. He's been really very good, especially in his response to the abuse earlier this year. Well done!!

Like who?Playing well.for England.
I'd be tempted to cash in if there were any decent offers and get a steadier more reliable keeper.
Under a lot of pressure he was faultless last night, arguably England MOM.Like who?
He's always been a good shot stopper, and kicks it better than most. Coming out for the ball can be one of the hardest things
in football and no one gets it right every time.

Don’t be daft, he’s been playing very well for months now he’s the best keeper we are going to get atm.Playing well.for England.

It was superb man management by Ancelloti, and hardly noticed. Gave him a break at just the right time, bigged him up in the media when everyone else was sniping at him. Thats why some people are paid big money to manage. Pickford,DCL ,Davies are all benefits created by Carlo during his tenure. Pity there were a couple even Carlo couldn't help.Something has definitely "clicked" with him.
As the team degenerated towards the end of the season , he actually seemed to improve.
Played well again tonight.
Let's hope that he continues in this vein.
Not gonna lie I choose to believe that this has a lot to do with ithis good form has coincided with a decent haircut. i hope he never returns to the spam-head he's sported in recent years.
