….I’m not overly bothered if he can knock a 50 yard pass, I’d much prefer it if he could come out and consistently catch crosses.
Not many of those about these days Eggs. Even the very elite keepers tend to punch.

Thought he actually controlled his area brilliantly against the Scots who threw in some boss corners.

What I hate Phil is when even if a player plays well people will say hes had a poor game because they've made their mind up on him.

Pickford was shaky for a while, I dont think think that was his ability more his mental state.

Watch him chuck one in on Tuesday now.
That's what I was trying to allude to. They've agreed he's rubbish with their binary views and that's all they can spout.

For example, I personally have doubts whether Tom Davies has what it takes to be a regular for us, however I'll happily praise him when he plays well.

I also sincerely hope that I am wrong and he does become a top player; a lot of the amoebas wish they'd stay rubbish so to not look bad themselves.

The punch is often the better option, what it does is it allows the keeper to come for a cross they would be taking a risk to try and catch, such as one reaching over people knowing that if you spill it the ball is on the ground in a very dangerous area and the kepper is now out of position

A good solid puch, get the ball away and go again, only catching balls is a thing of the past

He is becoming a credit to the club
Hasn't he looked impressive with England before, yet has had some serious spells of poor form at club level?
I`m glad to see our lads do well when on international duty, but still couldn't careless how good they play for their countries if they don't reach that level when back at Goodison.

He was our best player the last 3 months of the season too
He had been very poor early in the season. I think Olsen coming in for a few games made a difference. I hope that when the new season starts he continues to play like he finished last season and dose n't revert back to costing us points by making bad mistakes.
