I love him just for that.
Can't imagine the abuse he received since the stupid Derby, and all of hte Danny Murphy idiots having a go at him for no particular reason. Great mental strength. If we had real leadership at Everton in the last 5 years - even a manager/ coach who cared about him - he'd be much further ahead. Luckily we have Alan Kelly here whom he seems to get on with really well.

Of course he's got a few mistakes in him, his kicking is a bit erratic sometime, sometimes his decision making - but he's getting there! We need to show him the love.

what is it with people that have to come up with anything so they can carry on their rubbish against Pickford, weak opposition lol
some people GOD HELP THEM, He has been very good for many months and even the few that dont like him are even giving him credit which is good on them ;)
He has had a good European Championship, and should be praised for that. He is also usually quite good for the national team. He also finished the season well for Everton.

At the same time, it does not mean that he is suddenly a GK in the top class. Then he must have a longer period at a much higher level than what he has shown at Everton. Possibly he has suddenly been transformed, but I doubt it. We'll have to wait and see.

By the way, the best GK in the European Championships has been Vaclik.

I base it on 31 games for Sunderland, and 145 games for Everton. Not a penalty shootout, and a European Championship with rather weak opposition.

No you don't base it on that. Bizarre to say that you watched many if any Sunderland games and I doubt you bother much about Everton.

For me shows that when a player we know is decent is out of form we should back them and support them, not just write them off and late them.

One thing I've hated last few years is how much as fan base we rip into our own players.
I've repented for my sins, there was a period where my faith in St Jord wavered. Never again.

The point was that I judge him based on a large number of matches. It is not long since Ancelotti brought in a mediocre Swedish goalkeeper to give him more competition, and it was not because he was happy with Pickford. You do not have to go far back in time to find that quite a few supporters were dissatisfied with him.

If you play a couple of good matches, you are suddenly among the best in the world. If you play a couple of bad matches, then you are suddenly a terrible football player. I take a stand between these two extremes.

I guess you're local, and of course Everton mean more to you than to me. But I have been a supporter of Everton for over 30 years, seen relatively many of the matches, and have been over to watch a couple of matches. But of course, Everton means more to locals, than tourists like me. But that does not mean I am wrong.
