Watching the rhythmic gymnastics final before though, I'd deffo consider signing 1 of those girls to play in goal instead of Pickford. Ball control was unreal. I genuinely can't remember a time when Pickford has caught a ball 1st time without parrying.

Just a thought.

All goalies make occasional mistakes but Pickford makes them every week.
I dread to think what he will be like when he goes to Anfield as he will get dogs abuse there over VVD.
You still haven't answered my question.
Are there any better and available who could replace him.
If not we're stuck with him.
Get used to it.

Watching rhythmic gymnastics and thinking about football. WOW!

….Brands and his scouting network gets paid lots of money to answer the question you ask. I often wonder why posters are expected to have knowledge of players in a massive global market.

I do agree we are stuck with Pickford and I also agree the standard of keepers isn’t that great. We have bigger issues to resolve than our keeper even if I don’t rate him highly.

There are 250 million people worldwide playing football there has to be goalkeepers out there that are an improvement on Pickford.
Short-term I would rather have had Olsen starting as number one.
If we stick with him by the end of the season we won't be able to give him away.

Today he was poor.
Like him or loathe him he isn’t our biggest issue, far from it. And he definitely isn’t the reason we get overrun in midfield, lack creativity, play badly and lose games.

The way people go on in here you’d think he’s committed murder let alone be at fault for losing a fixture!!
He was our biggest issue for half of last season until his England place was under threat and will likely be our biggest issue again this season.

Amazed the United fans booed him when the names where read out, yet the same fans would have been winking over him a month ago

No. I can safely say from other forums and my mates who don't support Everton they all thought he was pretty poor in the Euros and blamed him for the Denmark goal and thought he was all over the place in the final.

Evertonians seemed to see diff

I’d say first 1/4 season and he was a nervous wreck and made me go grey watching whenever the ball went near him. After that he did improve but even during his dodgy spell he would pull off worldy saves…. During that period we had iwobi playing most games, Davies, Holgate, Gomes, Bernard, Siggy offering F-all and taking up spaces/wages in our squad.
I’d also go as far as saying his team mates have left him exposed at times and that our club is not the place to be when suffering a crisis of confidence!

Why?

He can be boss, he can also be an absolute liability.

People wouldn't "hate" him if he didn't make so many ridiculous mistakes.

He was great second half of last season. Can't be bothered with him doing random spills and zany mistakes again though.
It was quite literally his first game time with us post-Euros, and it was a friendly.

I'm all for criticism when warranted, but for the knives to be out after one half of pre-season football, following his massive second half last season and Euros performance, shows some have an agenda, rather than giving someone with that recent form the benefit of the doubt.

That's my only point.

LOL

Our biggest issue this season will be the same as it was last season - where are our goals going to come from?

Especially if we kick James to the curb

First game back, early part of game. Should've dealt with it yes, but equally he was out fast and would've got it without Digne's header. Miscommunication.
I'm hanging my hat on the superb form he's showed over the past 6months for club and country instead of a rusty preseason away game against one of the best teams in the world

No its not an agenda though is it? It is based off stuff that has actually happened, it's not random criticism. Its just people reacted the way they are conditioned to regarding Pickford and his errors.

There is no agenda involved in thinking "oh here we go again" regarding Pickford.
