It's clear that JP has loads of talent and could be a fantastic keeper. His decision making is poor and erratic. After watching him nearly every week since he got here there seems to be indications of an underlying condition. I don't know if he's been diagnosed with having a disorder or not, but his mannerisms etc make this a possibility. Whatever is going on needs to be addressed and help given to him no matter what the problem is.
Based on what? Where is this talent?

Problem is... the lad isn't mentally strong enough to shrug off criticism and bounce back. Same as Karius, a few big mistakes and he won't recover from it.

I just dont think he will ever be good enough personally. Need to get someone else in

If we have the ambition to be European regulars every point counts. Much as I respect Nev we can't drop points or tolerate any passengers. Time to be ruthless and bench him. No other top 6 hopeful would be playing him given the amount of blunders he is serving up on a weekly basis.

Keepers dont slate other keepers. Its the goalies union.
If we waited for pickford to cost games that time has come and gone from last season.
Nothing id love more for him to succeed but him costing us games in the future is like an express train coming at us at 100mph.
Have a look at the goals last night and watch some of the players reactions. Confidence is evaporating around him.
Big call and it needs doing.
Exactly. Big Nev knows Jordan is terrible too, but he’s probably hoping support will turn it around for him. Im hoping to find a suitcase full of cash, hasnt happened yet and wont. Pretty sure Pickford is in the same category. He’s been given more than enough chances and except for the odd performace, failed again and again. If we hope to kick on with our world class manager and new midfield, having a keeper unable to do the simple things will make that an impossibility. I dont like talking about the RS, but they did the right thing with Karius and we need to follow that lead. If we want to win things, we cant be sentimental or build a team around hope. Its what we’ve been doing for 20years and it just doesnt work.

Paul Joyce now on to it.

Everton could sign Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero to challenge Jordan Pickford

Sergio Romero is interested in joining Everton from Manchester United in a move that would put pressure on under-fire goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
There have been no discussions between the clubs but it is understood that Everton have made contact with intermediaries to discuss a potential deal for the 33-year-old, who wants to leave Old Trafford and who would provide competition for Pickford.

The England goalkeeper, who joined from Sunderland for £30 million in 2017, has made a number of errors over the past year, the latest of which came in last night’s 5-2 win over Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.

Pickford, 26, conceded the first after his clearance was charged down and then failed to stop Callum Camps’s bicycle kick even though it was straight at him.
Pickford does not have any serious competition for his place at Everton. At 20 years old Joao Virginia lacks experience and the only other goalkeeper in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is Jonas Lossl, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Huddersfield Town.

Romero, who has played 96 times for Argentina, has fallen down the pecking order at United after the return of Dean Henderson from a two-year spell on loan with Sheffield United.

Henderson, 23, is now back-up to the first-choice goalkeeper, David de Gea. Romero has been a regular for United in the cup competitions but he was not even on the bench for United’s win over Luton Town on Tuesday night.
It is understood that Romero was annoyed at being left out of the team for last season’s FA Cup and Europa League semi-finals after playing regularly in the previous rounds of both competitions.

Marcel Brands, Everton’s director of football, signed Romero in 2007 when he held the same role at AZ Alkmaar.

There are a number of hurdles to overcome before any deal is struck, however. United are thought to want about £10 million for Romero, which is likely to be too expensive for Everton unless they raise money from player sales. Ancelotti already feels his squad is too bloated. “I have 31 players in the squad. It’s too much,” the Italian said last night.

Another potential problem is that Romero does not want to take a pay cut. He earns £100,000 a week under his present contract, which has one year left to run, although United can extend it by a further 12 months.

It is also possible that United could want to keep hold of Romero and use him as De Gea’s back-up if Henderson fails to displace De Gea as first choice and goes out on loan in January.

Romero has barely put a foot wrong for United since he joined on a free transfer from Sampdoria in 2015. The Argentinian has kept 39 clean sheets in 61 appearances, which gives him the best shutout percentage (64 per cent) of any goalkeeper who has made more than five appearances for the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the United manager, said last week that Romero was yet to report for training because he had given the goalkeeper extra time off.
The Norwegian admitted last month that there was not enough room for De Gea, Henderson and Romero in his squad. “It will be difficult to keep three of them at the club,” Solskjaer said.

He is also too good of a person to have a go at someone who is not playing rubbish on purpose.

Not sure I get the whole being on his back thing, there have been no fans in the ground for months and he is still messing up. Unless he is reading GOT on his phone when the ball is at the other end of the pitch I don't see what difference it really makes.
