It’s just agenda nonsense. He’s never been the best in the world or the prem, no one’s claimed that, but when he’s in form he’s always been a very decent keeper up there with the good keepers in the prem. He’s been in good form since Olsen came in under Carlo. Denying that is just weird
Since that Anfield win last year he has been absolutely. He's made one mistake this season (based on the actual official data). One. Jose Sa, who some of our fans love (and is having a great season tbf) has made 6.

Someone has posted a good graphic of how Everton closed down the shots so well today. When they didn't manage to, Pickford was there and at the top of his game. But people blaming the GK for some of the goals we've conceded recently are just mad. Like even if he could have done better for Liverpool's goals last week, they were both free headers inside the box. That's not on a GK.

I was not his biggest fan but he has stepped up this season. One big mistake this season away at Spurs and a couple of smaller mistakes leading to goals. A lot of the top keepers have made more. Pretty much our player of the season although granted there is little competition
He has only made one mistake leading to a goal though (directly) - and that was the one you mention against Spurs.

Like even at Burnley, yes it's a poor clearance but a) that all comes from Kenny's daft shot and b) Godfrey then makes a complete balls up of an easy clearance.

Been arguably the most consistent keeper in the league since the 2nd half of that season after he had that little spell out. Certainly the best of the English keepers going into the Euros.

But the media had already decided on the narrative and since pundits don't base their opinions on actually watching players game in / game out they were quite happy to repeat it rather than think for themselves. And of course every single error has to be magnified and highlighted to ensure the continuation of the narrative lest any of them look foolish or are clearly outed as frauds.
