Not sure how to feel about this. He is one of our few marketable players and I was hoping we would sell him in the summer and use the cash to help rebuild the squad. I don't rate him as much as the rest of you but I do not hate him either.

He has equal moments of utter brilliance and plain stupidity. Here is to hoping he finds consistency going forward.

We could still move him on this summer and the new contract would only bump the price up...

Pleasantly surprised, thought we’d be forced to sell him on the cheap or lose him for free the following summer! Ideally he’ll stay long term and can start to build a team again, worst case scenario he goes bur at least we’ll get decent money.

He’s shown great commitment to the club, could easily have waited until the summer, made clear he wasn’t going to sign a new deal and forced the club to sell cheap.

We sell him we’ll end up with the 10th 11th 12th…. best goalie in the league or Championship.

If we go down he’ll be sold regardless of his contract as he won’t want to be playing championship football so a relegation clause is unnecessary. This just makes sure we get a decent price for him. If we stay up then we’re keeping one of the top keepers in the league.

Hopefully he’ll be part of a decent spine to the team moving forward under Dyche.

Yeah signing a new contract means nothing long term, might give us a chance of a better fee, even if we stay up he could easy be off
