2024/25 Jordan Pickford

Not sure what Pickford could do Joey? Keane was goal side (all be it, he was caught underneath it and couldn't readjust in time).

His centreback should've dealt with it and his RB shouldn't have let a cross in so easily.
Get in position for a cross any ball in the 6 yard box in the air should be the keeper's he was so disoriented he ran into the goal post the ball was 4- 5 foot out Keane should have done better too - I agree with that but our defence is conceding 3.1 goals per game atm - last season it was up there with the best?

Agree. When the cross came in Pickford was covering the near post then had to scramble to the far post. Michael Keane 100% at fault for not attacking the ball or even making it difficult for Watkins. Keane should have cleared it, Pickford could not do much about it considering he was covering the near post. Decent cross took keeper out but still should have easily been dealt with by Keane

Nah, he has his limitations Joey, but, that goal was all on Keane, a, shall we say, less than brave challenge on Watkins.
Both of them IMO sorry if the ball is crossed into the six yard box it the keepers & the CH'S he could have pushed keen the galoot onto Watkins & got away with it - just admit Pickford is a great shot stopper - never controls his box in the air ....

I used to here Labby & Westy have rows on who's ball it was & it was further out than that cross, & keepers wee not protected back then either - as I stated if Pickford was a great all round keeper he would have been snapped up by most big clubs an age ago - he came for a big fee from a team relegated ....the season we signed him - how he is chosen as no 1 for England is a mystery to me as he cannot control his box ... great stop saver up there with the best, but as an all round keeper = NO -

Plus to be fair to him England's defence is better than ours as we have no fullbacks - Dixon had a good game dropped ....

Pickford has always had people on his back who resent him being England first choice instead of their favourites like Pope and Ramsdale. A few Everton supporters on here jump on him at any opportunity. He is far and away not our major concern among the current squad. Ok his big kicks up the pitch irritate, but isn't he obeying orders from Dyche? Maybe to do with our lack of creative players he sends the ball sailing up the pitch. Not good to see but that's where we are with this squad.

He's been quite reliable last season, but at least 3 goals of 13 he has at least a partial responsibility. The fact that quite reliable players also start to produce mistakes isn't a good thing.
