2024/25 Jordan Pickford

Weird the lack of respect that is given to Pickford in the media.
Typical media struggling with the idea of a player being England’s number one while playing for a club like Everton. They can’t seem to accept that a player of that calibre can come from a team outside the so called "elite" clubs.

Be a different story if he played for the manure or the kopites like.

Absolutely love him for screaming at Dyche to make a change. Not for the first time.
He needs to be careful. One more outburst against Sean "the all powerful" Dyche and he'll find himself on the bench, along with Joao Virginia. And Asmir Begovic. And Andy Longernan. And Sander Westerveld. (or however many goalkeepers we have on the bench these days in pursuit of our 0-0s).

Isnt that mad. How the fans can see it, clearly we now see as well that the players themselves can see it

Why cant the manager see it?

Pickford was quality yesterday
Yes, it was good to see and clearly indicates the more senior players have had enough of this caveman.

I would hope Dyche is man enough to move past this public rebuke and suspect he is. If he ends up criticising Pickford (if local media have the will to question him), things could get rocky for him.

I was thinking about this a little earlier today.

Imagining what Dyche may have said to Pickford after the game and all sorts of topics.

If Pickford were to get dropped then Dyche would be finished.

But for Pickford we'd have lost.

Even Dyche isn’t that stupid. Unless he wants to be fired and paid off.

He's in a win win situation - guaranteed a massive payout for being an abject manager.
Basically a parasite on the club - like many of the players
If only we lived in an age of honourable men where he'd walk out of shame.

Pickford would cost around £60-£70m.

Arsenal got Raya on a try before you buy and then got him for £31m, that represents good value for money.

United are a basket case, they should of gone all out for Pickford when they got Onana (who is also better than people give him credit for) nd still paid less than what we would have wanted for Pickford

Reds wouldn't buy him, plus they have Alisson and have lined up a brilliant replacement

City have had Ederson for the whole time we have had Pickford

Spurs again went for a cheaper option in Vicario

Chelsea decided to buy 12 goalies, and still don't have a decent one, during that time they spent £80m on Kepa and he was terrible, maybe they thought they didn't want to put that much outlay on a goalie

Newcastle wouldn't buy him

Long story short, as good as Pickford is, clubs feel that what we would ask for him £60-£70m wouldn't represent good value for a position the better teams don't rely on s much as a team like ourselves.
People very rarely spend that amount of money on a GK, we bought Pickford 8 years ago and he's still the 11th biggest fee paid for a goalkeeper

It's because top clubs focus more on how good keepers are with their feet in playing out. Pickford's a better keeper than Onana but Onana is very good at playing out with his distribution.

Crazy isn’t it. Very little coverage, but clear as day “make a ******* change”.

It’s a bit naughty I guess, but what’s Tarks doing, or Seamus if he is around the dugout. Both of those will have the respect and relationship with Dyche to give an opinion. And Young (who has been doing fine in recent weeks).

This is not the first time it's happened: he definitely did it against Fulham, and he did it in another match this year, but I can't remember the exact game.

When you have a pivotal and experienced members of the squad (the player with the most Everton appearances yesterday) openly questioning the manager,...

... well, you can presume that all is not well behind the scenes. But as others have said, we can all see the need for changes, yet he is far too rigid to do that.

You could say that yesterday we weren't really in a position with lots of options (maybe only Harrison a suitable option), but this is a long-standing thing.

In the last ten minutes, we had no subs warming up at all because, in his eyes, we were all done, and that is a common thing we see under Dyche.

Massive fan of Pickford continuing to bollock this fraud and his yes men coaching team about subs and changes, it seems in every match we play now.

Sadly, it’s a problem that’s all of Dyches making.

Pickford won us the point in the end, against 10 men for 45 minutes. Shambles.

The other Sad thing is we still had 3 subs available to use to affect the game, but there is zero appetite from the manager to try anything like that.

At least Harrison could have come, and maybe even Patterson (🤣🤣🤣 I know, as if!) when they were low blocking and trying to break on us - at least give them more to think about in their half of the pitch.
