I’d say out of all those keepers Pickford is certainly the best. Did jump on the Butland hype train but if you actually watch him, he isn’t actually that good.

In fairness the lads had 2 bad injuries.

I can see the 2 of them competing the Engkand jersey for the next 7/8 years and neither will let the side down. Both will be top quality.

People on here [Poor language removed] him off but if he truly was of a pedigree to sate those few we’d have to sell him pretty soon. Be careful what you wish for.
If we (the club/team) dont match the lads development he'll be gone within 2 years. Maybe less.

Klaassen didn't make the squad mate.

Midfielders: Donny van de Beek (Ajax), Davy Proepper (Brighton), Marten de Roon (Atalanta), Kevin Strootman (Roma), Guus Til (AZ Alkmaar), Tonny Vilhena (Feyenoord), Georginio Wijnaldum (Liverpool).

See my answer to McAvennie...

The Premier League show on BBC last night had some unknown ex-keeper turned never heard of hack at the Stoke game to access the two potencial World Cup keepers. At the end he didn't say much of anything.

Totally agree. The pathetic comparison with Pickford on Saturday's MOTD missed out his weird stop from a 30 yarder from Keane. Stood behind the goal you could see he was completely unsure of what he needed to do to make a clean save.

I’ve weirdly seen a lot of Stoke in the flesh and on telly this season (Stoke supporting mate). From the way they raved about him I thought he was something special but watching him he just isn’t, they clearly have never had a truly quality keeper. Always good for spilling a ball and his distribution is poor. Pulls off some decent saves but that’s about it.

Loves an injury too, which is never a good thing for keepers.

If Pickford played for West Ham, Spurs, Newcastle, or god forbid Liverpool and has performed exactly the same way he had for us, would there even be a discussion about who would be England’s number 1? Most ex goal keepers (apart from Shilton) are calling for Pickford but don’t let that get in the way of the mainstream media who will only accept Butland or Hart.
