Haven't seen yesterday and wont be planning on watching it.

Lad is class and has been absolutely stand out this season with no defence infront of him.

He can have a bad game, most of the team have had about 30.

Should of done better with two of the goals on sat...

Needs to improve on his crosses & balls into the box, needs to command his six yard box..

A spectacular keeper makes good saves look spectacular...

A good keeper makes spectacular saves look good...

He was our shining light amongst the crap we signed, just hope it works out for him, else we basically need a complete new team.

You can't have followed Liverpool for long then. Paul Gerrard, Steve Simonsen, Richard Wright, Steffan Wessels, Iain Turner are all keepers we have had who were all far worse than Pickford.
I think Pickford beats them all really. I can go back to 1892 and still it will be the same.

Even as one of his biggest defenders, I have to admit he was poor for the goals yesterday after making a few really good saves in the first half.

I think the Arnautovic one - whilst it looks a pretty routine save - moves pretty quickly in front of him and catches him off guard. Should he get a hand to it and maybe save it? Yeah but I think you're taking away from the strike to just blame Pickford.

The Lanzini one annoys me because as someone who has grown up watching keepers - me arl fella and younger brother, both, at a decent level - the new technique of going across your body with your wrong hand has started to creep into the game and bar someone like De Gea pulling it off, it doesn't really work.

I'm blaming our new GK coach like, who isn't that great. You only have to watch his stuff with England on YouTube to realise that.

Still, he's been fine this season and the majority of goals conceded haven't been his fault. He'll be fine at the World Cup and next season too.

Personally I think the Arnautovic one is an error with his technique which has been coming for a while.

Although you're right that it moves, the best keepers would be standing tall and looking to catch or downpalm that, meaning that even if you can't catch it you're still blocking it. He has a habit of not looking to catch anything like that though, his instinct is to push things away, which means as he was only planning to get his hands behind it anyway, the movement has taken it totally past him. He's been good this season, but not great. Those 2 yesterday were absolute shockers though.

He's very very good at some things, average at others and poor at others. He's not infallible nor is he the worst player on our squad. The sad indictment of it all is that he is comfortably our best player purchased in the last year.
