2017/18 Jordan Pickford

Well according to lad in work, Pickford should have let that rocket of a shot alone, as it was missing the target.
By default therefore, he was to blame for the corner and the equaliser.
Aforementioned kid also said the best save he's seen in his life was the Henderson effort, whereas our Jordan's save was pure reactive.
I haven't got the time to debate the matter with him.
There isn't enough time in our ever expanding universe to debate with him and have him see sense.
They are in a cult, free and reasoned thinking is not allowed.
Charles Mason has nothing on these folks.

I think Jordan’s height will always be a downfall that he will need to compensate for by reading everything early. What impressed me about that save the most is that most keepers (maybe even the top ones) ignore that ball as they feel they have no chance. He showed a tremendous amount of athleticism and awareness to reach that in time.

His reactions are top class, but he has to command the box better than he did last season. Ecstatic that he had a great game.

I think the only 'downfall' to it would possibly be longevity when athleticism starts to decline.

I mean his height will always be the low hanging fruit to beat him with, because factually he's a smaller keeper.

So long as he remains athletic and improves upon some of his weaknesses, he will be a very good keeper...perhaps even a top class one.

It’s not a stick to beat him with. He will lose out on some claims because of his size. He won’t be able to reach some headers because of his size. Point blank balls may fizz over his head. That doesn’t mean he can’t be a top keeper. I never said it would prevent him from doing so

But he will get to others because of quickness and athleticism that a bigger fella won't have. It's not like he's a midget.

I never said he was and I agree. Claims have been noticeably poor though. I’d like to see him improve that area of his game. Don’t want to be a team bullied on corners

Same height or taller than Southall, Gordon Banks, Casillas, Valdes, Given, Shilton, Barthez. Has the goal got bigger or something since Pickford started playing for England? Kaspar Schmeichel is the same size, so is Heaton, so is Lloris, Keylor Navas is shorter. Why is this even a debate? Stekelenburg is massive if people would rather have him in goal over Pickford next season.

And so it begins, Pickford starts to get linked with big money moves. Can’t load link but Real Madrid maybe interested, plus how long before the media get him playing for one of the Sky 6
